As the
Storyteller for this venture, I believe that there are many details
that must be described for these principles to be effective. Therefore,
I individualize
information handed out to players and offer preludes to each incoming Character.
I am a highly covert and evil Storyteller and I maintain the secrets of the game and the
other players. Characters here are more secretive about themselves and so are the NPCs. Do not expect things to drop in your lap. It is intended to be a challenge.
Players who are
following the meta-plots recently published by White Wolf or who rely on supplemental
source material to define events within the World of Darkness should note that in
CR20 we do not follow the meta-plots. Core book explanations for the origins of
Kindred, Mages, and Garou are of course standard. However, I prefer to use core
book origins and my own creativity and common sense in populating
the setting with NPCs
and defining the intricacies of their relationships to each other, the setting, major
events, and Player Characters.
In this section of the site you will find
information on how the Chronicle is formatted mechanically, session times, Storyteller
modifications and explanations of systems, standards of etiquette OOC in
CR20, and
a discussion on cheese and how to recognize it and avoid it in your role-play.
My format is tight and not forgiving, but
impartial. I suggest this game for persons who are interested in a serious
Chronicle that deals with exploring the many challenges of Character Development and some
seriously trippy twists and turns and have read and understood more about their genres
than how all the really groovy powers work. If you are not an experienced player
with the White Wolf
system, I suggest that you familiarize yourself with the books published by that company
before moving further. However, I encourage people who do not know the system,
but have an imagination as to what a sick twisted place the World of
Darkness is, to look
further into this as a possible venue for their role-playing fix and purchase the books.
A list of the texts used in this Chronicle is in the Chronicle Format
section
of this site. The books may be purchased through Amazon
or White Wolf. Ebay is also a wonderful place to get books at better
prices and some cool out of print ones. I have accepted players completely new to
White Wolf in the past provided that they showed genuine interest to learn and made the
effort in purchasing the core book for their genre, I am prepared to do so again.
So if you want to learn, don't feel that I will turn you away. Everyone learned
somewhere and I am understanding of that fact.
This game is intended for mature audiences only.
World of Darkness role-playing is a form of entertainment that deals with subjects
not suitable for children. Chicago: The Roarin' 20's will deal with explicit and graphic
themes. I am not able to check ID over the internet, but
I would like an 18
or over age limit. I really don't want any FBI agents called in on us because
someone's mom saw a chat log and freaked out. That would blow. By
participating at all in Chicago: The Roarin' 20's, you have agreed to the terms and conditions in our Disclaimer
that limits my liability and the liability of the
other players involved. This is for all our protection. You deal with it or
you do not play.
This Chronicle may not suit your style of play.
I suggest that you examine the material presented here and throughout the site
before going ahead with submitting a concept and creating a Character. Please do not waste
my time or yours
by creating a Character and then deciding that this is not the game for you.
You may email the
