General InfoWe have all had our share of experiences
role-playing World of Darkness Characters. Some of us come from Table Top or from
Online or both. In CR20, the Storytellers have decided to create a more stark
outlook harkening back to their origins in Table Top play.
The Mortal, Hunter and Project
Twilight portion of this Chronicle is based on the issue of the masses of Humanity rising
up against foes and hidden allies alike in a world that they do not comprehend.
While trying to forward their own personal ambitions and beliefs, they wrestle with the
political power play of those around them who may or may not wish them to succeed.
Because of this standard, CR20 focuses on some basic principles in theme and mood
that are often overlooked in online format RPGs like horror, mystery, and tragedy.
In this setting, players can expect
to find their Characters thrust in a world where the lines between friend and foe are
blurred as nothing will ever be as it seems. Their very individual morality will be
questioned at every turn as they strive to understand and defeat their targets and protect
the innocent. But is anyone ever really innocent in a
decadent culture? Some
of the very masses they protect exhibit tendencies to the supernatural as psychics and
occultists fall in that gray area and it is the hunter who is struck with the sudden
realization that what is good and what is evil is not always a matter of black and white.
Chicago:
The Roarin' 20's is a 2nd edition
Chronicle with even some 1st edition principles still thrown in the mix. As this is
the case, Hunter's Hunted is the bible for which Hunters are made. Hunter: the
Reckoning is not supported. Players of Hunter's Hunted and Project Twilight
Characters will have to rely on their cunning and tenacity as players in order to be
effective. The Storytellers see nothing wrong in the usage of Hunter's Hunted and
Project Twilight in preference to Hunter: the Reckoning as they were both beautifully
written supplements for the White Wolf World of Darkness core books.
